Spruce-Pine-Fir (SPF)
We have the flexibility to produce almost any lumber product
Made from Red Spruce, White Spruce, Black Spruce, and Balsam Fir, these lumber products are sold together as SPF. Eastern SPF species tend to grow slower, contributing to the strength of the lumber. The softwood trees in Nova Scotia are tall and straight, creating high-quality lumber with tight wood grain and small knots.
Why SPF Lumber is the Natural Choice
High strength and light weight make it the ideal choice for many uses
Holds nails and fasteners exceptionally well
Small tight knots
Kiln drying ensures dimensional stability
Environmentally superior to steel, concrete and plastic
Suitable for industrial construction due to its strength, ease of handling, and versatility
Popular choice for structural lumber, wood framing, sheathing and trusses in houses, apartments, and commercial buildings
Broad range of applications including stair treads, exterior decking, pressure treated products, outdoor furniture, wooden crates, reels and other industrial packaging.
